Brake upgrade - jus checking...
The plan is to:
a. fit vented mk1 GTi discs and fast road pads up front.
b. fit goodrich hose kit.
c. replace servo for Mk2 Golf.
d. fit 22.2 mk2 golf master cylinder.
Now aprt from the fact there are only 3 metal pipes on the current master cylinder and 4 holes on the new one am i goin to face any other problems?
Als what do I do about the extra hole? Do I blank it off and which 3 holes shall I use??? :dontknow:
And most important will it increase stopping power and get rid of that dead pedal feel!!!????
I have read 100's of posts now and erm more confused than when I began…!
Thanx, Peet

if you dont want to spend masses speak to the guys at CRN who can be found on ebay, I have their groved discs on my track car and they have had some real hammer with proper race pads and still look like new
for the pads all depends what you want,
all pads "should" be Reg 90 approved meaning they meat minimum standards, but I know from the testing (I work for authority that approve vehicle components in the UK) that theres a pass and then there is a pass.
depending what you plan to do I would either look at green stuff pads for road use or if its faster stuff with big power you should be more looking at pagid fast road pads / yellow stuff pads etc, as green stuff / road pads will give up if really pushed

Since i've uprated the suspension I found myself already going to the dark side and enjoying driving faster into bends etc - i'm on worn solid discs and worn out pads at the moment so i've stopped using it for now but the discs and pads below look a good buy and its a good place to start and get me back on the road methinx.. :dontknow:

I thought do that next weekend then in a few weekends time change the hoses, servo & master cylinder and hey great brakes for til i'm really ready for the engine swap as the adaptors I've seen are the same price as just the pads n discs.
The other parts wont be wasted if i do upgrade as I also have a Mk1 Cabby on normal brakes which I can use em on!
And thats if it really needs it, this upgrade may work great! - has anyone done this exact upgrade - i'd have thought so!
