Hi,any golf mk1/vw/classic car meets near inverness
the brakes need a good right foot as well
LoL, tell me about it, the Caddy doesn't exacly inspire much confidence on that scene either. Looking at upgrading the brakes on mine before I do anything else with it I think.
…I wonder who that was then -there's been quite a few appeared recently though I don't know whether I've just started noticing them more since I got my VW.

Does Jock take on any work on MK1's? On my way to work on Monday (I'm working in Aberdeen at the moment) I bottomed out the back of the pick-up and the NS rear wheel caught the wheel arch and pulled it out slightly. I need to get new rear arches at some point anyway (was just hoping they'd last until next year) but I've lost all my workshop / garage facilities now I've changed job. Would this guy be able to help-out do you think? There's no bodyshops up here I've found which will take on welding so far apart from a guy down at Dalcross called Robert who I've used before -I haven't dug his number out yet to check with him though.
….I'd obviously prefer someone familiar with mk1's to do any work on mine that I can't take on!

I will put motormania on my calender of stuff to do Thanks, I am interested in the 9 spokes the reason been i am not 100% happy with the way the car feels on the road with the deep dish alloys & 205/45/15 tyres , i think the car might feel better with the original size wheels & tyres , i am fitting a wishbone Lower strut brace this week to see if it helps .The car has had new wishbones & bushes fitted by its previous owner it all looks! pretty healthy, but maybe a bush needs replaced
Its hard to put into words how the car steers, feels on the road but its as if the front wheels are trying to pull "slightly" diff directions sometimes
Your thoughts on this small problem are appreciated eg does a mk1 feel better on the 175/70/13s or 185/60/13s or even the p-slots 185/60/14s
might start a new post with this one
cheers
