My New Ride!
Part of my new fitness regime!! Got a bargain on ebay. For a Raleigh it's not bad, very light - saddles damn hard though - been a few years since I've been on one of these!!

That saddle looks a bit high would hate to think where that rubs 8O
I've dropped it down - this is the ebay pick. Not sure how the guy rode it, he didn't seem any taller than me!!

now get on and pedel if you leg goes fully extended then your too high.
you should have a slight kink at you knee so about and inch lower than you leg length.
to low is a waste of power because your leg is just starting to act and you stop.
to high is just dangerous and you wont be able to maintain a smooth pedel stroke.

why is it on the outside of your car?
also, seats that high arent a problem, i have to reach down lower than my arse to get to the handlebars, but only because I'm 6ft tall but my legs are more than half of that, and my seat is quite thin (downhill, good for avoiding the undercarraige :wink so as long as its firm but not solid Andy, you should be alright 8)

narrow seats tend to be more comfortable (with the hole out the middle good old specilized) as you dont sit on you a$$ bone. X what bike is it?
ive just got a halfords own Carrera bike… but not much on it is standard anymore… the bike itself it meant to be a hybrid bike (hence 27 gears and skinny standard tyres) but ive changed all the necessary bits to make it a beast downhill 8)

i'm getting a bit old now and so's the bike. i have a 6 inch single pivot susser with marzzochi junior t's up front. fsa cranks with rpm chain guide and guard all lx drive train. formula b4s for the stoping it's a bit long for technical but fast as hell if you get a good roll.
also go the street/dirt/trials bike which is a 14" subway with rigids.
and the road bike from back in the days of racing.
still "ffffing roadies"
