XR2 NO MORE - VW GLI CAB CONVERTIBLE ALL THE WAY - INSURANCE
Used to be a member of the XR2 owners club, minted XR2 with 17000 miles gone, now the soon to be proud owner of a Cab Convertible with 52k on the clock.
Just trying to get insurance - this is going to be my main car. HELP? Want agreed value also?
Also what is recommended about alarms?
Cheers

Depending on how old you are and how many miles you'll do in a year you could try footman james for classic car insurance. They like many other classic car policy providers like people to be over 25 and have limited milage policies. The cabby is a bit more expensive to insure than a tin top but should be good fun to make up for it
Let us know how you get on.
Any Pictures of your new car?

If you're under 25, try lancaster insurance. I fould them very good when I insured my golf when I was 23. Adrian flux are also good for younger drivers, again particulalrly if you're using it as your main car.
As you're female, you may want to try a female only insurance company, as quite often they can offer you a very competitive quote, but afraid as it's a cabriolet, the premium will be a bit higher than u might expect.
As for alarms, Clifford or toad are probably the market leaders, and make sure you get one with a microwave or radar proximity sensor attached to it, as then you can park it with the roof down if u really want to, and the alarm will warn off anyone near to the vehicle with amazing acuracy.
