Not sure there really needed but should there be some holes in the box section underneath the floor, the bit garages seems to jack Mk1 Golfs up from and most are slightly crushed?

This is how the new ones come!
Someone will need to see the dentist if they jack my car up from there after this 😂
I'll be cutting holes from above into the sections so I can fill it full of cavity wax, all the edges are seam sealed so nothing can get in.

Yes it's crazy 18 months of replacing panels, feeling like it's getting nowhere then a weekend of paint and boom looks finished 😆

You'll be needing a large stock of white cotton gloves for the rebuild now

Re the steering shaft VW list:
It appears on the face of it that if you aren't an automatic LHD or LHD with power steering there is only one shaft 171 419 505B.

But when you go on Heritage it lists for RHD with that part number.
How confusing .
But then I check that site as you've done 🤔
Maybe they list it like that because there lazy 🤔

Volkswagen classics don't list a side designation on their site.

I'm pretty confident I'm right now, I know the bottom spring is wrong as per photo.

I've got my lump in bits rebuilding it etc but I've been massively let down by someone so I'm either eurowise or S&P and I know you went eurowise.
