You will need shorter bump stops when lowering the car or you will easily bottom out on the standard bump stops.

I can recommend these, fitted them last year to my sportline, from the same supplier.mark1gls said
Speak to theses guys, they sell a kit with everything in so they might be able to sell some shocks.

If you had a shorter front shock it would be lose in the strut housing unless you get the shock and strut housing in one.
I’ve never had a problem fitting standard height shocks to a lowering spring and mine cars gone from standard height to lowered, back to standard then 2 different lowering kits over the 30 years I been driving it.
There might be some shocks out there but probably best talk the the manufacturer or maybe someone else will help.

Remember your Geometry when making changes to your suspension.
I have found that lowering it, usually results in a Stiffer ride. and that you may need to invest in Strut bars for the chassis.
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.
Where are my DIY Links?

I only asked because there was the cheaper 'Bilstein B4 Sport', but sadly it doesn't exist for Golf Mk1, only for some other cars.Briano1234 said
IMHO, there are no "cheap" shortcuts on suspension parts, whether you are lowering it, raising it, or getting it back to OEM.

Thanks for the advice tho!
