What oils you have been using in golf mk1 cabriolet, motortype 2h 1.8
Is it worth putting mineral oil there or just, fully synthetic oils.
I am driving only at summers with the car, so 15w-50 Castrol ? Or 20w-50 Teboil ?

As you are in Finland your oil spec might change due to the difference temperatures?
Stuff VW would use.
AVS Car Parts
Avoid Castrol oil as it's not very good now a days.
Use a genuine VW or Mann oil filter as well.

I used to use Castrol GTX all the time in the 1990 with out any problems but I believe the newer stuff is no good for older cars.
I don't see the point in paying more for an oil that may damage my engine when you can get better oils for old cars cheaper… £35 for 4l of Castrol or £17 for 5l Quantum Synta.
It really up you what you use in your cars we can only offer advice and recommendations.

Just picked up 4 litres of Castrol fully synthetic 10/40 at Asda for £17 on special sale price, their El Cheapo home brand was £16.50. That was a no brainer.mark1gls said
I've read that new Castrol oil has a very very low zinc content which is not good for older engines as the zinc helps to reduce cam shaft and engine wear
