Was april 2005 I had just passed my test and saved up to get a fiesta encore 1.3, I begged my dad to sell it me but my mum stepped in and said I would kill myself in it so NOOOOOOOO she also mentioned paralysed and serverly disabled ( would have been worth the risk )
Still not forgiven them haha
He sold it for £2500 yes two thousand five hundred, No I didnt miss a zero
Huge mistake selling it! I knew it back then because I'm a genius that no-one listens too

1929 Ford Model "a" 2 door with rumble seat, my brother and I road in the rumble seat from where he bought it to the house….Grinning from ear to ear and having a fun time. I watched and learned Body repair using a blow-torch, LEAD, beeswax, and wood paddles….
or
Still owning either my Rover 3500s or 67 MG Midget.
Both of the above have special meaning to me. One I did keep, but alas haven't touched it in 40+ years is my
58 Bug-eyed Sprite, or MK1. (didn't you all call them Frog-Eyed?).
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.
Where are my DIY Links?

My mother then went out and brought a 1988 Mk1 Golf GTi cabriolet which I brought from her when she sold it and that's the car I have now.
She had a few other cars but has now got a Honda Jazz sport (sport in name not performance as it's so slow…) and I'm not going to be buying that..
1988 Mk1 Golf GTi Cabriolet 1.8cc DX, K-jet. Daily drive. 317,000 miles and counting
1978 Mk1 Scirocco GLS 1.6cc FR, Webber carb. Weekend toy.

My mother is the VW nut in our family, she had a 1976 Mk1 Golf L which I was to young to drive when it was sold, then a 1980 Mk1 Golf GLS which I was still to young to drive then she got a 1984 Mk2 Scirocco Storm (1 of only 300 made) which my brother brought from her and we managed to find it after he sold it so that's in his garage awaiting restoration, I brought my brothers 1978 Mk1 Scirocco when he got the Mk2 Scirocco which I still have.

That sounds like Ceremy Jarksons story about his mother. Back in the day she had Audi GTEs and Injected VWs then as soon as she was an OAP got a Honda Jizz.
1983 Mars Red 1.8 Golf GTI
1987 Alpine White 1.8 Clipper Cabriolet
The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

I've got a photo somewhere of my dad with a white Mk1 tin top 1.3 with a wide arch kit, apparently an ignored dodgy wheel bearing meant it lost a wheel but that was well before I hatched
He had a 1275 GT mini which he gained by swapping it for a crossbow when he was 15
But the one I really wanted was his Mk1 Celica.
Apart from that it's mainly been complete rubbish.
About 6yrs ago he had a black BMW facelift e46 touring 330d Msport manual running 280bhp.
Doesnt sound overly special but manual 330ds are quite rare and my current 330d saloon isnt big enough so that would of been handy
Current rides:
2003 BMW 330d Manual Saloon Msport
1985 GTI cabriolet black edition (42k miles)
1999 Triumph Daytona 955i Post apocalyptic, rat, brat, scrambler, steam punk, cafe racer

He also had a Norton Domminator 650SS that he bought new when they first came out……but that went when he met my mum.
By the time I came along it was all Morris Marina's and Mk5 Cortinas 🤢
Growing up and being sensible sucks sometimes!! 😂
