Its a 'Brands Hatch' TSR conversion using a Passat crank, Pack C head and 285 Piper cams that I have had for about 10years, and its never been any touble, was always fantastic and gives around 150 ponies.
Unfortunately, recently, the oil pipe pick was getting blocked and I did not realise until it was (briefly) starved of oil at low revs.
I cleaned out sump (no metal pieces) and unblocked guase and it runs 'ok' but vibrates which it never did before! The oil warning light goes out and stays out but I reckon it has picked up a bit on the shells or bore (it never siezed but 'tightened up' a bit so I killed it.)
TSR has been through several owners and when I had this engine built though the guy who built it (Tom) was excellent , there were problems which related to me not bieng particularily confident about them thereafter. It could be they are back and fine now(?)
BUT I need to know a few proper engine rebuilders who are experienced in non original engines and WHO YOU CAN RECOMMEND.
So, please let me know who youi would trust!
I am based in Norfolk though that does not have to be an issue as would travel to the right place.
Thanks.
Marcus.
