Looks like the twin of mine; Mars red, Y-Reg, 1800(?), single headlamp, no sunroof. Snap!

Been quite busy with this recently, stripped all the suspension and brakes off the car, had the full polybush kit i had fitted, then i went on a clean and paint mission.

Some goodies that turned up the other day

Now ive got to crack on with the rear beam and ARBs, and get it all fitted back together with my coilovers
also thought is stick this up, took it on the way back from liverpool a while ago shame i only had my phone

Abit of progress, completely stripped the rear axle, polybushed all round, all hammerited up, new stainless outer arb clamps* and all new brake lines
First pic has middle arb polybushes in already as i was going to leave the outers alone, then i found replacement clamps so manned up and got the grinder out!

Axle After... by gtifanboy, on Flickr
Plan for tomorrow, fit to car along with the rest of the fronts, bleed brakes and go for a blast about
*b*stards to fit

i found them really tricky to pull together but got there in the end thanks to a g-clamp, some mole grips, a hammer and my mum

Thanks all, took a while but definitely worth the hassle
Theyre really good, abit bouncy at first but now they seem to have settled it handles solid. still need to sort the tracking amd camber so will be awesome
I might need to raise it a little, tyres scrubbing whilst doing 70  on the m1 was scary :?
Quick snap from VW Festival on the lowdownvw club stand broke the front spoiler on the floor

cheers, no part of the rear was technically difficult, just abit frustrating trying to get it back together without ruining the lovely fresh paint
also i cut the rear bushes in half in the end with a stanley knife as they werent playing ball, no issue though as the mounting bolt squashes it together anyways
