I have at last figured out how to put full sized pics of "Project Bertie" onto my post.
Will put lots of pics on tomorrow, (Christmas Eve! 8O )
For anyone following this one, time is so tight now im not sure that he will be ready by Christmas. Have had so many problems with the interior. its been in and out so many times in the past two days. Just so you are aware, it appears that you cant fit the front seats from a LHD into a RHD, it failed the MOT so have refitted the original seats just to get the ticket tomorrow.
That problem aside the bodywork looks fantastic, the clipper bodykit was a pain. The original rubber seals were perished, tried several from the internet (?100 - ?150) but badly made and looked awful.
In the end we made our own for less than ?20.00 and they look better than the VW originals! Would be happy to share with you how we did this but wont bore you with the details here.
The ICE system has finally been completed and sounds incredible, although it does need its own battery and generating system which will have to be located in the boot. Unfortunately will make the boot useless for putting anything else aside from a pack of ciggies in!
The ice is the only mod i am making. Aside from that Bertie will be as God intended. (I would change the wheels but Chev (My Wife) is a bit of a purist, and its her Christmas pressie!)
More later. Now desperatley need some sleep!
