Sportline flywheel cover plate, which one fits??!
I took my 1993 GTI Sportline (DX engine code) into Kwik Fit yesterday for 2 new front tyres and tracking to be done. Whilst there I asked the mechanic if there were any glaring issues underneath. He told me that there was a gap between the engine and the gearbox where the flywhell was clearly exposed and thought there should be a plate covering it.
Anyone know if I am missing a part here that I should look at finding and fitting?
Cheers,
Del

I believe your box will be an 020 code, I'll see if I have my old cover plate kicking about later if you like?

I couldn't find the code on the car or in the docs. Just found a code for the transmission which was AUG.

note this piece is a later revision, early cars the tin plate between box and engien was all one piece which made sump removal a bit of a git. so vw lopped the bottom off and made this plate. sump swaps still a git, but ever so sligtly less so

The car was manufactured in 1992 with a 1.8 DX engine and has a 5 speed manual box.
