Ok been working at the camper over the last few nights, have got the front and pax side TCut and polished and so far very happy with the results.
Interior has been hovered out but did not really need it, carpets very clean.
Camper finds so far stickers from Turnbury 1991,original plate set complete!!!!! Cooker working grill never used. Water pump for sink working hell everything working as it should be. Window rubbers all ok apart from passengers door which is cracked probably sitting in the same spot getting the sun.
Four good tyres and spare all good all Michelin,3 original VW plastic wheel trims will try to find one to match.
Rock and roll bed rocks as it should do, one of the cushions is still in the original plastic never used. Chubb halon Fire extinguisher date stamped 1989 and still shows green in gauge. Engine bay just dusty and I have started to clean it.
Original awning and poles. Porta potty in buddy seat.
No zig unit or leisure battery so will see to this over the next few weeks also looking at getting heating fitted to give more scope to use in all weathers. looks solid underneath.
So there you have it like stepping into a time machine and going back 21 years.

I keep lusting after a T25 before they follow the old VW camper £ curve thats means nice splits and even bays are now too expensive.

The interior looks fine, nice an period.

Hows 1.7 non turbo Diesel cope in a vehicle the size and shape of  barn?

1983 Mars Red 1.8 Golf GTI
1987 Alpine White 1.8 Clipper Cabriolet

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

Polishing now finished what a job, glad I had the 12v hand polisher, just the very top of the roof to do. Did all the black plastic.
Refitted the rear roof seal and sealed the front where the seal is missing.
Fixed some of the broken cabinet catches with magnetic ones.
Gave the engine bay a good clean down with gunk stiff brush and tooth brush, then treated the hoses to some back to black, cleaned the injector pipes and painted them silver.
Replaced the fan belt just in case. Also found the leisure battery when I was cleaning the engine bay, it was in behind the main battery, one less thing to get HAHA.
Took it do to Larne and picked up a 30ft mains hook up cable, got home and plugged it in, sockets all working. Put the fridge on to mains and let it sit for 2 hours on the mains, nice and cold hee hee that's the beer sorted then. Almost ready.
Fist pic shows how matte the paint was, left side in photo to be done

Still waiting to get the seats back so here are a few teaser pics I took down at Auto trim, really happy with the finish.
Also put clear front indicators on with chrome bulbs, think they look much better.
Replaced the pax and drivers lower window scrappers pax side was shot.
Changed some of the cupboard pull handles inside, and got nice new window winder handles, chrome door pulls and surrounds.
Going for new carpet trendy  blue stripe should match in well.
Replaced some of the insulation with foil backed in plastic.

Things have been on hold as i wait for the seats to be finished, the curtains and carpet to arrive, however theres always a few small bits to do,changed all the rusty screws in the front and rear indicators, also removed the front grill and light brackets as the new clear front indicators are also wired for side lights so may get them wired up soon as the side light wires are now easy to access.Cleaned up and greased both the front seat swivel bases, now rotate nice and smooth.

As Saturday was a real wash out I got stuck into the van, I had removed the island table leg brackets and floor mount and painted them silver, so these had to be refitted.
The new floor carpet arrived during the week and had already picked up an off cut last Saturday for the seat base's, so stripped out the carpets and cut new pieces using the old carpets as a template.
Replaced the seat base carpet first then the front floor section and then the rear section, no real issues just took my time and used spray on carpet glue.
Final finish really good, nice and bright will match the new seats really well.
Just the seats and door cards to get now and we are ready to roll. New curtains also arrived will hope to get them up tomorrow.
Have enough carpet left over to do another van lol, will cut out drivers and passengers mats a large rear mat and engine bay mat then get the edges bound just to keep every thing nice and clean.
