1982 original Irish GTi

I collected this on sunday morning in Dublin. The car has been owned by the same man since 2002. In the last year it has had new sills and rear wheel arches but due to time and storage problems the car had to be sold. here is a pic of it as it arrived in my garage

So after a few hours stripping this is some of the tin worm I found



 and new front panel needed so not to bad

Strip it to a bare shell remove rot and work my way to paint and reassemble and hope to have it at dubshed in April. So that leaves me with 5 months. I won't get at it again till the weekend due to other commitments this is going to be my biggest slow down

I bought a new one but there is a lot of bad programs on it like wheeler dealers. Keeps putting bad ideas in me head

Car is now on the spit

Rotted scuttle removed

Rot cut out of the floor and replaced with new metal

I'm a long way from that. But February if I keep the pase up

A slight change in plan. I think ill keep this under cover until limerick it would seem a better time to bring it out and it gives me 7weeks extra
