Is there an easy way of Fitting Super Pro Bushes to Rear Axle Mounts???

Post

As above.

Finding it impossible to get new PU Super Pro bushes into the rear axle mounts.

Is there an easy way or knack of getting these in?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I'd try and get them in in a vice or a big 'G' clamp with a big socket. Grease up the hole it's going in, put big socket to the other side of the hole,  then using a big washer or piece of timber to protect the new bush, wind it in. Basically the opposite of the video below.

Hope this makes sense and helps :)

If they're anything like the ARB clips it'll be a nightmare mate hence why I went for the ones that split in 2 with the metal tube in the middle.

I find a length of studding works well, I also use superflex pollies, find they are more flexible than some other pollies ive seen.

if the sleeve down the middle comes out remove it then just hacksaw the bush in half so they fit like most other poly bushes as above :)

I used a hydraulic press and still needed a lot of patience! Might be worth while popping into a local garage and saying to one of the mechanics you will give him a fiver if he quickly presses in the bushes for you! He won't realise how awkward they are to start with but he will not want to let the bushes get the better of him

How I fitted mine was make sure to metal tube is not in the bush hold the bracket in a vice the get a long threaded bar and two big washers or serval to make a bigger washer and nuts for the threaded bar, put the threaded bar through the bush and into the bracket where the bush fits and put the washer and nut on the do the same on the other side so you can do up the nuts and pull the bush through the bracket. Don't forget to smear the bush with the grease supplied to help it slip through and you will need a big blunt flat headed screw driver or pry bar to push the edges of the bush into the bracket as you tighten up the nuts.
It may slip out a few times but it is possible to do. Once finished use the grease supplied on the metal tube and that will help you then push that into the bush.

You have my full sympathy on this one - been there already. Like Mark said - but you will need patience - I think it took me most of a day to do these - they kept slipping to one side, and the special grease makes them really slippy, but not necessarily in a good way!
