yes the 2.8ltr is similar to a vr but with 24v, r32 is a bigger version of it ;)

use a vr6 or a fwd v5 box with it, and the mk4 inlet and managment job done. I think with the eurowise kit you need shafts? or maybe it comes with?

The problem you may find with the VR6 is it's a big heavy engine and all that weight infront and over the front wheels can ruin the handling.
That why the 20v turbo is a popular upgrade as tuned up it's a match for the VR6 and will still return a good MPG.

Just my thoughts…..

I can under stand that now I'm getting on in years now, I did have the chance to drive a friends tuned Corrado VR6 on a long journey, it does make a lovely noise and goes well if overtaking .
I'll keep and eye on your project and good luck with what you chose to have fun with.

Could you not use the 02m box that is on the 4mo ? I thought there was a way that you could put a blanking plate on the transfer box or something so that you could run it fwd ? I currently have my old 4mo sitting on my drive that I have started breaking, but will be using the box and haldex system on my tin top when i get round to starting it  :P

the 02m boxes are pretty heavy and custom shafts and mount brackets required. the shafts you may have to do custom anyway for the vr6 swap so its just the mounts to make up. oh and the clutch is different for the 02m too than the 02a/j

another option is if you can find a good ratio 02S from mk5 era car you can swap all the internals to a vr6 or v5 gearbox bellhousing. This one is based off the 02J box so it will mount up with 02a/j mounts and shafts (still may need custom ones for vr6 install though depending how you fit it)
