New Engine
Bit of background, I bought a 1983 MK1 in November 2013, spend a lot of money on restoration but never did anything to the engine. It is originally a 1.1 but has been converted to a 1.8 from what I believe is a cabby. The engine was okay but pretty much died, and has now been in storage for around 10 months now as I haven't had the funds to fix it.
Now I have, I've purchased a new engine which has been fully rebuilt and has 70k on the clock with 100 miles since rebuild. This engine is a 1.8 8V running twin Weber 40 DCOE's.
This comes as a full conversion with gearbox etc.
I'm just wondering, will this be a difficult swap or will it be a straight swap? The guy I'm buying it from says it'll be fairly easy as I already have 1.8 mounts and a carb engine. Just a bit of help from you guys would be great I've got an engine crane to rip out my existing engine and drop the new one in too.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
