Hydro clutch conversion

Post

Hi all,

I'm in the midst of converting my clutch to hydro. I've done a quick mock up but the M/C is hitting a bracket above the steering column, Does anyone know if I can do away with the bracket? there's nothing on the column that bolts to it, so wondered if it's there for a different type column?(see pics) I'm also thinking of turning the M/C 22.5 degrees to the left to give me a bit more height.

The bracket just above the yellow cap on the M/C is the one in question.

Thanks in advance,

Andy.

hi,

i had the same problem with mine, that bracket got in the way so instead of removing it, i cut the 2 metal strips that you can see above the yellow cap on the MC, and then just bent up the bracket so its out the way and doesnt touch it. just incase for whatever reason it needs to go back, its at least still there :)any mods i do on my car i like to be able to reverse it if needed to be put back to standard.

cheers.

Hi Andy,

I had to cut that bracket as it was fouling my hydro kit from crazyquif's.

Couldn't see what's its purpose was. I removed mine completely but have saved it in case I decide to standardise the car in the future (like that's even possible with the amount of mods on it :))

Cheers

Cheers peeps, I did just cut it outin the end and also altered my pedal box to give me more room. The extra bracket is for a European model I believe.

Hi Andy,

What did you end up doing with the heater duct?

When I fitted mine I had to remove it but don't know what to use to bridge the gap.

Cheers
