I am converting my 81' 1.6 GTI to run a G60 engine and gearbox, I have bought some 100mm driveshafts, my question is will these work with the standard hubs are will these have to be changed?
thanks

You can either carefully grind out where the 100mm cv's bind in the 90mm hubs, it's at about the 65mm point on the CV, or get some 100mm hubs as then they will all just work
Ok thanks, might just pick up the 100mm Hubs then, do you know if it's just the hubs I'll need, are the carriers and wheel bearing the same?

Caliper carriers are the same. Bearings are as well I think, they cannot be pressed out and reused though
That's great, I've got some new bearings already somewhere so was hoping they were they same!
Thanks

sometimes you find they will fit even in the old bearing carriers, sometimes they will lock up when the nut is tight. depends on the make of the outer CVs.
Ok thanks, probably worth just trying it first then! does any one know if you can buy the 100mm hubs new or if it is a case of buying used?
