Rainy sunday = mk1 time

Productive day on the clipper, rewired my whole audio system so now switches with ignition and stores memory, sorted the tatty vacuum pipes with new hose cut to length, then finally painted my gear stick as it was driving me mad being a dull grey/rust colour. Then got round to painting my servo to see how it would come out in situ, I'm pretty happy with it I do have a mk2 gti 9" servo spare but the brakes work well enough I think; time to get a nice retro headunit! image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

Looks good buddy :)

I need to get round to painting my servo but wasn't sure how I could do it in-situ but yours looks great. Did you brush or spray?

 cheers mate :)

I sanded it down smooth using course then going to finer emery paper, then just a bigger bush for the bulk and a little brush to get around the edges etc, I gritted my teeth and went steady but I'd recommend masking the surrounding bits/brake pipes etc up just to avoid making a mess, I moved the expansion tank out of the way made it loads easier just pulls straight up and over to one side minding the hoses

No worries mate, Only other thing is the original sticker I used a really small artists brush to paint around it looks fine although you can buy these for about 2 quid so would maybe recommend buying one and applying this after if you want to make life easier

It's not as bad as it seems once you get stuck in, a few hours with a multimeter and basic wiring tools and you're away, my topic really helped me could always use this as a how to almost

How old is your dissy cap and HT leads in the first picture? They look really old and grubby, they are meant to replace every 2 years DO IT NOW and buy a new rotor arm!
