Just had the front valance resprayed as the underseal was a bit inconsistent and hoping to get the headlining retrimmed. This is turinng out to be a bigger job than normal as it has a Britax Webasto type sunroof fitted.

16v servo ordered and will be purchasing 22mm master cylinder. Aiming for a 256mm conversion on the front brakes with the Audi/Scirocco 16v carriers and a pair of Girling 54 calipers with braided hoses.

I have a set of deep dish RH Classics with home made centres waiting to go on and have been offered a piper 285 cam (some advice on the wisdom of this appreciated).

Looks so nice, white in particular I think suits a standard car whether it's a Mk1, Mk2 or Mk5 - can't picture what yours wI'll look like with the RH wheels yet.

As for the Cam, IMHO. If you are going to go down lots of engine mods to compliment it and thrash it everywhere then go for it.  I have a similar Kent cam in mine and to be honest it's a PITA when driving normally and on tickover in traffic. I would gladly swap back to a standard Cam if I could just find where I have out my old one.

Thats good to know about the cam, the only other one I have ever fitted was 270 to a Scirocco so it was a bit milder and drove ok. 285 is obviously more aggressive and don't want to upset the drivability.

Very tidy mk1 mate, you must be well pleased with her. I can imagine the headlining being a pain to fit O_o

Thanks everyone, body is very good on this one so happy to fiddle at the oily bits. Was adjusting the gear linkage this morning but think I have made it worse despite following handbook guidance!

When I did mine it was very frustrating getting it adjusted right for reverse but persevere with it ,maybe spare pair hands would help.
