Hello so this is now my second foray in to the mk1 world and it's bean a long time coming this is my new car  1445533442652.jpg
She's a 1.6d that has been imported so she's a lefty and is mint! :D she replaces my old project car that unfortunately turned out to be crash damaged Screenshot_2015-10-02-13-10-27.png and beyond repair :( so my plans for the new car are as follows rhd conversion and abf on standard injection will be looking to turbo this at a later date will do my best to keep this up to date! Thanks for reading Dan

So this Last couple of weeks I've done a fue little bits
So the Mk3 abf is in for breaking for the conversion  20151116_150840.jpg
The golfs just stood up at the moment while this happens as I can't fit it in the garage aha have a spare loom for the abf witch I've decided to use as a template for the conversion when I get it out the Mk3 so that's started the old car is now gone with the remaining parts to be sold as and when I can and the steering column and dash are redy to go in the car as not injoying the lhd also looking at break upgrades asap as that's a priority

So update have started pulling the motor progress is slow and difficult due to the fact I only have a single garage spaces is tight and grazed knuckles are standard  received_10205518954037842.jpeg engines In Good Nick apart from a dent In the sump and a leak from the waterpump witch will be replaced once out of the car
Parts I will be replacing are as follows
Waterpump
Cambelt
Timing chain
Sump

I'm planning on a oil cooler so that will be something to looking into are there eny other parts that enyone would recommend it renew before I put it in the mk1 ?

Up date so today saw the removal of the engine and box after a stubborn drives haft held me up for 2 hours  (rounded bolts at box end) I finally dropped the box received_10205522460125492.jpeg received_10205522460725507.jpeg after the box came out had a fue issues with the exhaust all the bolts were rusted to a nubs so had to remove the heat sheald and then undo the 6 main bolts a lot easier with the box outo the way last was the fuel lines and the final mount this was a bit of a juggle 20151126_160648.jpg alas it's free!!!!
Loom was then removed all that I have left to take out is the immobiliser box and it's little loom as well as the lamber

Hi yea I've kept all of the rhd conversion (there's quite alot)
Cut the complete coloum and rack the bar and servo for the engine bay plus the dash so quite a bit

Afh the polo engine? Had a bit of experience with those in polo mk2s good motor I bet that's fun  in the golf main reason for the abf is that I got the Mk3 very cheap and my cars configured for big block so it's bolt in with the gti box

cool if you need any of the brackets off a shell let me know. i bought the spax coilies off you.

i fitted a mk1 oil cooler on my kr but kept the mk2 water cooler thing on and i dont think it ever gets hot enough to flow through the mk1 oil cooler.

im tempted by the door you have for sale but cant get to you for a while
