brake lights not working

hi,ive got mk1 golf cabby 1981, with no brake lights!!!  checked bulbs and fuse,also looked under brake pedal for switch, no switch and  still no go..
can someone shed some light on this problem….many thanx…

Hi Mate, check near the master cylinder or around there, should be sticking out towards the passenger side. Hope this helps.

there should be 2 pressure switches on the master cylinder, red/black and red/yellow wires. unplug one of them and bridge the pins then see if the lights come on. if not make sure the pins are all clean, if not check the fuses for the lights (#6)

Done both of them mate. I've bridged and one brake light comes on have them a clean and checked fuses still no joy. I may just need a new one

Did you get the problem sorted? As my golfs doing the same thing i bridged and still no luck.
