I'm in need of a good bottom end to suit a DX / EV engine.
Let me know what you have got!
Preferably within reach of central Scotland.

Massbad69 has a good one in his Inari silver S1 if that is any use ? He is in Scotland as well.

Failing that speak to the shandy drinking southerner funk-star , but you will need to be quick before the gay skirt wearing Scot hospitalises him :-)

Cheers,
Ade

Thanks for the input everyone!

Mark, out of interest,  what would you take for a good one including delivery?
Just in case I don't get any joy locally.

How do you know if it's a 'good one'? I did the head the have been told the bottom end in mine may need some attention at some point. Never thought of a second hand ones.

You need to measure the bore diameters and the ring gaps to check for wear.
Then check the crank end float for wear.

If you've got it in bits you can inspect for damage and measure for wear against spec.
I could go down the line of rebuilding but the cost would be an awful lot more than picking up a good second hand one!

KennyGrant Hi mate, I've got a DX bottom end going for free, It ran spot on before I split it. Think it has been rebuilt in it's lifetime, got some receipts for work being done. It's 166K on it now but like I say it ran fine. It's been dry stored since I split it. That's all I know about it.

Located near Newcastle upon Tyne.

Andy.
