Drivers side wheel assembly parts wanted

Post

Callipers, discs, pads, hub, front upright, tie-rod end, bearing, back plate etc...

I had a bit of nightmare over the past two days. Snapped wheel bolt in hub, new bleeder valve sheered off putting in, then found calliper retaining bolt rounded so couldn't get disc off, the tie rod end wouldn't pop out either.
Tried with all the will (and limited expertise) to get the snagging bolts out, but had to give up.
The result is I need the above.
- gti Callipers, discs (currently drilled and grooved as running g60) C:\fakepath\image.jpg C:\fakepath\image.jpg , pads, hub, front upright, tie-rod end, bearing, back plate etc…
Ideally a complete assembly so I can get on the road again ASAP.
Any parts, help or advice greatly received.
Thanks Damon

Where abouts are you Damon? I know I could sort out your Hub woes. I would suggest taking it to an engineering workshop or a good garage. The track rod end will pop out you just need to give the hub a good beating with a hammer where the track rod end goes through the hub assembly. The rounded bolt again needs a beating with a hammer and then use some Stilsons (pipe wrench) to remove it. The snapped wheel bolt could be drilled out and re-tapped but may just be easier and cheaper to buy new flange and bearing. Snapped bleed nipple may need drilling and tapping but might be able to use an easyout.

Depending on the tools you have available; I would cut the caliper mounting bracket bolt head off, at least you can then keep the mounting bracket and the disc. You might find that with the tension off the bolt, using the exposed material once the bracket is removed, you will be able to get the rest of it out.

As said above, a good hard whack or 5 on the end of the track arm, not the ball joint or threaded part, should pop the track rod joint out. Put the nut back on to help protect it; just leave it loose. (Wear protective glasses; I got a bit of shrapnel imbedded in my nose doing this once)!

you may well be better off taking it to a machine shop if you don't feel you can do it all; not a lot of point in you spending loads of time only getting half of it done and then having to take it to someone else anyway.

Good luck.

Good advice thanks Guys. I live in Wigan, M6 side.
I tried an easy out on the bleed nipple without any luck. I'll try to salvage some parts but after spending Saturday mostly swearing I think it might be a job too big for me.
Thanks again

A great result this evening. With help from a mate we managed to remove the calliper mounting bracket bolt in a vice. Same with sheered wheel both. Just got stuck with the end of the bleed nipple in the calliper and couldn't remove the track rod end but might leave it be.

Found these refurbished callipers (below), I won't be able to get an exchange on mine as I doubt its serviceable! They aren't Girling. Any advice?
