I am looking for an age appropriate tape deck for my 88 Clipper. The types that seem to be popular for this year appear to be Blaupunkt Cambridge oxford dusseldorf.

I am looking for a good condition one if possible,

Hi Ben,
I think the keys to finding what's right are as follows. 
Models
Condition 
Your price range 

The reason I say this is because you could spend from 50 to 500 in the bat of an eye!

For example is the set up I have in mine, which is a 1990.
Could set you back 700 or 800 if you can find it anyway in the world, let alone in full working order.
Took me 18 months of constant searching!

I've seen others with just an 80 to 100 Pound spend be just as happy!  

If you want to see what I've put in mine I can add the details tomorrow. 

You could always buy an age related deck and have it modified to be DAB or IPod compatible. 

I may have one ill have a look and post up pics.

A few years ago you used to be able to pick up old radio cassette head units for a few quid, even high spec premium brands.

I've just replaced a dying 1990's Blaupunkt with a early 80's model in my GTI. I was quite surprised that anything half decent was now £50+ with some Balupunk/Apline stuff costing £200+.

Long Time no Post as the car has been put away for the colder months! But I have got my hands on a Blaupunkt Bristol radio which looks great however does not have the harness to go with it!! Any thought on the best way to get hold of one ? Or should I endeavour to make my own!! Thanks!

I've got a Blaupunkt Mainz 1984 model in the '84 cabby.  



It came without a harness but I got one for a company called "Blaupunkt Direct" in Yorkshire. 01274 685411

I have a blaupunkt melbourne sqr 39 does anyone know if can get any spares for
Them I have one of the knobs missing on it and it's really annoying me or does anythin have one that doesn't work which I could buy

See above ^^^^^^^^ and give them a ring, you never know they may have the part and it'll save you hunting around.  

I have a blaupunkt cassette player available but one the small knobs is missing can show you pics

I tried Blaupunkt Direct but did not receive a response after using their on-line contact form and telephoning them. After a bit more searching round and a few more knockbacks we got in contact with Les Evans & Son who managed to look over the photos of the connections and managed to provide us with a good quality Rear Harness! I would recommend them!

Well done. Perhaps Blaupunkt Direct have stopped trading then?
