Tailgate taking in water!

lifted up the tailgate today to hear the sound of water sploshing about inside. took out one of the drain plugs and it poured out.
luckily the inside is well waxed and cant see any corrosion.

this might be a common problem, whats the lowdown? wheres it getting in?

also have water in boot, looks like its getting in that hole next to the catch mechanism

we have had so much rain lately its not getting a chance to drain or dry out.

I had this issue and the only way I could see it getting in on mine was through the badges. Going straight in the tailgate cavity. My lock and wiper were perfectly sealed.

yeah that was my next port of call, there are too many bloody holes on the tailgate

did you get it sorted?

Look at the seal around the rear wiper and then the boot lock and badges.
