We're very sad to announce the passing of CampaignJerry

Post

Important!
Today we wake up to some very sad news, our long term member Jeremy Hillock aka campaignjerry lost his 2 year battle with cancer yesterday and sadly passed away.

He joined us in 2004, just 17 days after the club was formed and was a key part of not only our club, but the VW community as a whole. Any who met him would know he was a person who was always smiling, especially while driving his red campaign and blasting out 80/90s tunes, you will be missed by many.

Open up that GTi in the sky our friend.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at what must be a very difficult time.

Rest in peace my friend, such a nice person, great to be around, you had such a good vibe. You had one of the best looking cars on the show scene and you still parked it next to my cabby with holes in the roof and never mentioned a word.

Really sad to say goodbye, but just happy I got to say hello. RIP

Graham, I know that you and the whole club are on top of this which shows how much we really do care about our members beyond the grease, grime, frustration and polish.

I for one really do appreciate all that the Club Committee do on our behalf and the shear time and effort you all put in.
Also I couldn't own a Mk1 without the knowledge and support of this Club and it's members!

Just thought it was worthy of a mention.

Lovely chap, what a shame.
I got to know him when he came and commented that my car had the same deadlocks in the doors as his at ED38, 2009. I already knew as i'd admired his car for many, many years. We chatted about mk1's for ages that day….and from that day on he always said hello if i saw him at any shows.
Sad news.
RIP

Never met him but chatted plenty of times on the forum, us both having red Campaigns, very sad news.

Be fitting to take my car out for a run at the same time as the funeral if able to.

RIP    campaign Jerry ,
Maybe as a  gesture  we could have a  "minute's  noise  " on the  Sunday at the  agm  .
Kinda  kick start the  show  and  shine,  which we know Jerry  put his  heart  into  .

Mk1 2l TSR G60.  .getting. There twice as fast

I think a minutes noise is actually a great idea, a true 80s Classic maybe!
