What's original
Also she is completely original at the minute. I'm having her resprayed over the winter - do I keep to the original colour or go for something different?

My understanding is that, at that time, the factory didn't fit sets as standard.
I've an '83 tintop, it had this set from new but by the time I got the car the cassette function no longer worked.
When you loaded a tape it spat it out straight away… I looked into getting it repaired, but any one I approached either wasn't interested, or if they were would charge to look at it but without any guarantee of there being a fix.
Even though it's period correct to the car I think the Cambridge sits a bit too proud and even though it is, just doesn't look original. Rather than put money into trying to get it fixed and still ending up with a non-runner I went for something else I thought looked more in keeping with 1983… That's no reflection on the Cambridge, just personal taste.
Having said that if it came with the car might be worth putting up with the lack of the cassette player (or taking a chance on fixing it) for the sake of originality, can't put a price on that!

I no longer have my set to check, but there may be a jack on the rear that'll allow an adapter to be plugged in, connecting an iPod/MP3, doing away with the need for the cassette side of things.
The link below is just the first that eBay threw up, not saying it'll work with a Cambridge, but there's likely one out there that will. There are different pin types on Blaupunkts, double check before you buy.
Also, someone on here did a 'How to', if you want to make your own.
