Got my car booked in for the classic car display at the National Memorial Arboretum in South Derbyshire.  Going to be a chilly day, hope it warms up before Stanford  Hall VW show next week.

My Golf is my daily driver. Ironically, not that I'm complaining, I don't think I need to go anywhere today. Except the fridge to get a beer…

plenty of cars out today at National Aboretum, but weather put off visitors a bit.

a bit of a delayed response but I didn't take part in anything "structured" but, because the Golf is my beloved daily driver, I used the jensen for the everyday tasks. Was kinda fun. Popped to Tesco, then screwfix, called in at mums. Nothing exciting at all - far from it - but enjoyed using the car for the mundane. If Jensens are built for continent crossing, (which I do regularly of course :):)  ) there is a weird pleasure in pottering about in it…

Whilst out, spotted a very nice indeed Big Healey and a very pretty MG B GT.

I was reminded of a drive it day from a few years ago…

We were invited to join in with the south Wales Classic Car Club and we  convoyed to just outside Monmouth where we together stopped for a scheduled coffee break marked on our route map. As others started to leave, so did we, joining the convoy and off we went. At the head of the convoy, maybe 6 or so cars ahead of me,  was a lovely E type who led the way for about 6 miles. He led all the way back to his house, wondering why a dozen or so classic cars were following him… He was nothing to do with the tour, he'd just popped out to buy the Sunday papers…and we were miles off course :):)
