A few pics and one of a very nice Clipper that was there with numerous other classics too… Anyone here?

The noise of the supercharged FF was awesome. Like an angry spitfire. The car isn't my cup of tea, but I'm very glad it exists.

You don't see many of those at regular "Classic" car shows, I'm surprised there were 101 in the same place!
As you suggest, they are thirsty enough in standard form, but that supercharged car must be something else!
I have been in one (an interceptor, that is), quite some years ago. It was like a boat with some wheels on the side which pointed sykwards when you pressed the loud pedal!

Whilst they're no Lotus - or indeed MK1 Golf - when it comes to handling, they're not anywhere near as bad as may be feared - best to relax into it and go with the flow - and as you say, one of the quickest flows is the rate at with motion lotion flows from the tank into a very thirsty engine
the best mpg I've ever had was on a club run to Belgium - lots of motorway cruising form where I live in Cardiff to Dover saw mpg in the high teens. Typically, its around the 12-15mpg mark. City and "fun" driving could see single figures!! tbh, I don't think about it - if economy is a requirement, you've bought the wrong car! Servicing and the cost of (most) oily bits is however pretty cheap. I've had the car 14 years and can't think of anything else I'd want instead for the same money - other than being the thirstiest thing on the planet since the passing of George Best, its rather practical. Its comfy, has a decent sized boot and I can (just about) fit the kids in the back.
