Fuel starvation turning right

So, when cornering fast on a roundabout I get fuel starvation

Have checked in the tank and the baffle and bung in the bottom is intact 

Tank filter has been removed and cleaned and fuel pump is new

1983 1.8 gti

Any ideas as to cause and solution

This comes up a lot. Mines always done it when tanks about 1/5th full around large roundabouts.

Others more knowledgeable claim there is a rubber flap in the tank that should stop it happening but the flap moves/becomes damaged and can't be replaced.

Don't hammer it around large sweeping bends or keep tank at least 1/4+ full

Swirl pot between tank and fuel pump??

Vw did fit a swirl pot and a lift pump to the gti cabriolet to stop this happening so I guess you could give it a go.

How would that be incorporated into the existing system?
