Best tyres for standard wheels

Post

Hi
I have just about completed a full rest of a mk1 Golf GTi.

Unfortunately the car is going to be sold straight away (need the funds :(  )

It will be sold through a specialist classic car auction at Brooklands in Weybridge in August.

I have just had the standard tarantula 9 spokes refurbished by Lepsons so they have come back better than new!! :)

I now need to buy 4 new tyres. I want a good looking tyre to compliment the refurb.

What would be the best tyre to get, both good value and good looking?

I will buy them online and get them fitted locally.

Many thanks

Nankang ns2 has been my tyre of choice for many years. I think they've brought a new tread pattern out recently (Wheelwhore boys have just fitted them on the BASF pasaat) which is meant to be better than the NS2.

Uniroyal Rain-Tyre. Got a set of 4 from Tyre-Traders.com for a pretty good price too.

I thought VW fitted Pirelli tyres from new?
I have some Avons ZT5 on my tarantula wheels which seem to handle well but if you are selling the car why not let the new owner decide what tyres they want?
