1979 mk1 golf gti ariel.. genuine or not?

Hi guys. Trying to work out if the ariel on my car is standard or an aftermarket bodge. Any thoughts? The cars a 1979 gti. I'm beginning to think the whole audio system was added by the first owner. Were these cars sometimes sold without audio equiptment??

I'm trying to get the car back to 100% factory spec.

well my mk1 golf gti series 1 has no aerial and all photo I have seen there no aerial on the wing do have any more photos of your car like see it as you don't see many

As above.

Now 79 was a little before my time when I was selling them but there was no Aerial and no Radio/Stereo Cassette player from the factory.

These items were dealer fit options!  :thumbs:

None of the ones above have Aerials.  ;)

Looks to be a series 2 wing fitted. So not original  :thumbs:
