Thats the babies. Holy god, even with our discount they're £60 for the pair!
Might wait and see if I can source them a bit cheaper.
Might be worth sending a message to chortle.

Cheers,
Euan

That's a great spot Denia. Thanks very much.

Gonna order some now as I've just had to paint my arches for the 3rd time in 2 years due to stone chips.

No worries, word of warning they are a complete pig to fit. I used a hair dryer to make them more pliable and ended up trimming them slightly. But they look OK

Just to add to this thread for future reference. I purcahsed some of the £22 ones above and have fitted one side. I will not be fitting the other side. As far as quality goes they are ok but this is a job for a professional graphics fitter. I can do just about any job on a car but I can't stress enough how much this job needs a professional if you want a proper job. In order to get the 2D peice of vinyl around the 3D shape of the arch it is necessary to stretch the vinyl at one side but this means you end up getting air bubbles at the other side. I've pi$$ed on that much putting it on and pulling it off trying to get it right that ive buggered the fresh paint on the arch. I can only assume that the genuine items have a physical 3D shape about them to make them fit properly but I'm just gonna stick to painting my arches every 6 months i reackon. Cheers, Craig.

That's good info thanks. LIke the saying goes 'buy cheap buy twice'. I did have my suspisions about the cheaper arch protectors.

I've just got a pair of these from Heritage and they are not solid in colour just loads of little dots and also they are an odd shape, i can get my head around the 3d shape and applying them but the heritage ones if fitted square and straight would have a large odd piece that would go over the edge of the plastic arch onto the bodywork !

I'll be sending these back and getting some made from 10yr vinyl at a local vinyl place.

If anyone has managed to fit some of the "genuine VW" ones from heritage could you post a pic up for us ?

Normal for them to be clear with black dots, that's how VW made them, the colour of the car comes through the clear vinyl, as for the bit at the top that needs to wrap around the plastic wheel arch, you will need to loosen the screws under the arch and pull it away from the car.

Hmmm, not feeling that, i prefer the solid black ones that were on the car when we got it :|

would still like to see a pic of these vw ones in place to see the lines they create
